OK, so we’ve been back in the saddle for a few weeks now. Post-lockdown driving lessons officially restarted on July 4th and its been great to see so many students back behind the wheel. Not to mention many new faces. But we’re still getting asked a lot of questions about whether lessons are going ahead and the precautions we’re taking to keep you safe. So, here’s everything you need to know.
Everything You Need to Know About Driving Lessons Post-Lockdown
What the Government has said
- The UK Government announced that driving lessons could resume in England from 4th July.
- In England theory tests resumed from 4th July
- Practical driving tests will resume in England from 22nd July.
What we’re doing to keep you safe
More than anything else, the wellbeing of our students and instructors is an absolute priority for us. This means that we’re taking Covid-19 as seriously as road safety. Since the pandemic, we have implemented the following safety measures.
Before every lesson, DGN instructors will clean all shared surfaces of the vehicle with antibacterial wipes. This includes the steering wheel and all other controls.
DGN instructors and students will be required to use face masks throughout lessons. We will adhere to industry best practice regarding PPE as any additional requirements come into force.
At the start of every day, our instructors are required to confirm that they are symptom-free. If anyone is feeling remotely unwell, they will be asked to stay at home and reschedule any appointments. We will be asking all learner drivers to do the same.
